Did I mention that I’ve released a new but brief ebook? I highlighted it at the bottom of a recent post, but I thought I should make it a little more visible. It’s an effort to rekindle the random acts of kindness attitude that Ann Curry, NBC News correspondent, started with her tweet after the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT.
This is the way we need to respond to acts of evil in the world – with kindness and goodness. Both testaments of the Bible tell us to do this, the Qu’ran says to do this, and ancient wisdom from Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, and more say this is the way to respond to evil. Is anyone listening to the wisdom of the ages? Examples are given in my ebook.
The best part is that it’s free on KOBO ereaders, and as soon as Amazon and B&N notice it is free on KOBO, I’m hoping they’ll price match it. To publish on Kindle and Nook, I had to assign a price of 99 cents. Any payments made to me from those who pay the buck (which will be about 35 cents per ebook) will go to pay for scholarships for financially challenged families of preschoolers in my community.
When we start teaching our children to repay evil with good, that’s when the world will change and become a better place to live. You can do your part right now. Set an example for your children and grandchildren (also for your neighbor and your congressperson). Be more like Jesus and repay evil with love.
